The chart simply shows the actual temperature data does not agree with the predictions of the IPCC. The IPCC shows a stead upward tilt to temperature, just as CO2 is going up, and the temperature data shows a downward average tilt. Whether it is, or is not, the warmest decade in recent history is really not too important, since the predicted curves don't agree with reality. That being said, if I had the curves going further back, it might show, indeed, that the average temperature this decade was higher than previous decades, although I actually doubt that, because so much of the data has been proven to be faulty, as I show in my post from today, http://howcanpeoplebesostupid.com/?p=1314.
The problem is not with temperature going up, however. The problem is that there is no proven correlation between CO2 and temperature. It has been warmer before, and it has been cooler before. If you look at the long term temperature trends, as I show in the new post, you can see that we may, in fact, be heading for another ice age, which would be far worse for humanity. In fact, as I will show in another, later post, if anything, CO2 actually lags temperature rise. In other words, temperature goes up, and then CO2 goes up. This is because as the oceans get warmer, they cannot hold as much Co2, and so the atmospheric CO2 goes up. In fact, I recently plotted out the famous Vostok CO2 and temperature graphs touted by Al Gore in his "Inconvenient Truth" book and program, and you can see that CO2 does, indeed, change with temperature. But, it follows temperature, rather than leads temperature. Also, finally, CO2 levels have been hundreds of times higher than they are today in the distant past, and there is no good correlation between CO2 and temperature. CO2 IS part of the equation, but it is not the primary driver. Personally, I suspect solar activity as the primary driver, but there are a lot of other things, including cloud cover (again related to solar activity), tilt of the earth, and the various oceanic temperature oscillations have a very strong affect.

How does this fit in to your chart?
From the National Oceanic and Atmospheric ADministration NOAA (US Dept. of Commerce)

And from the World Meteorological Organization:
"This year is likely to be the fifth warmest on record and the first decade of this century the hottest since records began, the World Meteorological Organization said on Tuesday."
